The best place to start reading The Sun Eater or Christopher’s work in general is Empire of Silence. It’s the first book in the main series, and his first book besides.

The simplest answer is for folks who just want to read the main series. Read Empire of Silence, Howling Dark, Demon in White, Kingdoms of Death, Ashes of Man, and Disquiet Gods in that order.

If you want to include the novellas and short story collections, read Empire of Silence; The Lesser Devil; Howling Dark; Queen Amid Ashes; Tales of the Sun Eater, Vol. 1; Demon in White; Tales of the Sun Eater, Vol. 2; Kingdoms of Death; Ashes of Man; The Dregs of Empire; Tales of the Sun Eater, Vol. 3; and Disquiet Gods. The various short stories take place all over the Sun Eater universe timeline, but for simplicity sake, this order works perfectly well.

Seven main novels. It was originally five, but rising paper costs forced the final two books to each be split in two, for a total of seven books.

Unfortunately, the hardcover edition of Empire of Silence is out of print. We know what an inconvenience this is to many readers, and have attempted to get a reprint made several times in the last couple years. Unfortunately, these attempts have not been successful at this time, though it could change in the future. We are sorry for the inconvenience.

Christopher sends his sincere apologies, but as he’s not in the editing business anymore, he can’t read working manuscripts and provide feedback, even for pay.

While Christopher has been known to do this in the past, he has recently been inundated with a number of requests to provide blurbs. While he’d love to help everyone in theory, in practice he can’t read all these new books, and so he’s closing himself to blurb requests for the foreseeable future, at the very least until he fulfills his outstanding obligations.

Our T-shirts are classic unisex jersey-material tees made from soft, 100% Airlume combed and ringspun cotton. (Note that fiber content may vary for differ colors, like heathers.) These t-shirts have ribbed knit collars to bolster shaping, and the collar label tears away for improved comfort. The shoulders have taping for better fit over time, and dual side seams hold the garment's shape for longer. Our shirts tend to run true-to-size, so order your typical T-shirt size.

Our hoodies are warm and cozy, with three-panel fleece lining. The fabric is medium-heavy, made from 80% combed ringspun cotton and 20% polyester (70% and 30% for heathered colors). The garment features double-stitched seems for durability, and ribbed cuffs and waistband. The label tears away for added comfort. These hoodies tend to run true to size.

Unless otherwise indicated, all our T-shirts include a small Sun Eater series logo between the shoulders on the back of the shirt. Represent the Empire no matter what direction you happen to be facing!
